Getting to Cumberland

Cumberland is is located on central Vancouver Island in British Columbia,Canada.Vancouver Island is the largest North American island in The Pacific. Vancouver Island is 280 miles in length and is also the location of British Columbia's capital city, Victoria.

Vancouver Island is famous for its comfortable life style, long sandy beaches, forests, rivers, lakes, rugged peaks, and provincial parks and welcomes visitors from around the globe as a premier Canadian tourist destination. Vancouver Island is also the centre for ‘island hopping’ to the many ‘gulf’ islands along the coast and the gateway for nautical exploration of B.Cs rugged fiords.

Cumberland is located 70 miles north of Nanaimo, 4 miles north of Royston on the Old Island Highway and 1 kilometer north of the new Inland Highway Vancouver Island can be reached via B.C Ferries from Vancouver through Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo and from Tsawwassen to Nanaimo. It takes approximately 45 minutes north along the new Inland Island Highway from Nanaimo to reach Cumberland.

Cumberland is centrally located on the east coast of Vancouver Island. Whether you arrive by air, land, or sea, you will be treated to a stunning mix of mountain, coastal, and rural scenery. Fly in on direct, regularly scheduled air service from Vancouver or Calgary at Comox International Airport or Qualicum Beach, set sail on one of many ferries commuting from the mainland (from Vancouver area to Nanaimo or Victoria, or Washington State to Southern Vancouver Island); drive the new Inland Island Highway and turn onto Highway 19A - the scenic Oceanside Route; take the Vancouver Island/Laidlaw bus, or catch the historic VIA E&N Railiner from Victoria.
